Jump Jump
On witnessing my mad roller skate jumping skills, Mischief yelled to me “You’re living the dream!”

I did my first knee slide on Saturday →
With help from my other fresh meat wannabies, I successfully learnt how to knee slide last week.
It is so awesome to finally have all of the proper gear to practice with, superman here I come!

This is a great site that offers insider knowledge- it is great for people like me who don’t really have any contacts playing roller derby (yet).
Here was the most helpful info to do with buying skates:
Hints on buying used skates
Look for:
Good brand names: Sure-Grip, Riedell, Atlas, Roll-Line, Answer (Matter, Atom).
Used speed boots: Riedell 265’s, 125’s, 695’s etc.

The Upper Hutt Rollerskating Club has been my hangout every Saturday for the last couple of months. The club members are so friendly and open to helping you out if you have any questions. They offer Artistic skating classes and your first three lessons are free!
